Not that it really needs defending….but I was having a discussion/argument/wild gesticulating raised voice conversation the other day with a nice-but-snobby-reading-friend (you know you’re not destined to be kindred spirits when someone refers to Anne-with-an-e as ‘that carrot-haired girl with plaits right?’)

I have, (it’s entirely possible) complained about our Australian Summers before. So I won’t bore you with long whingy details again – suffice to say it is hot.
So unbelievably hot.
With the horror that is The Holidays (we capitalise it in our family) receding firmly into the past, I am once again ready to face the world…And this month’s TBR challenge (Bless Wendy of the Super-Librarian fame and her smart January Selection-ing) was Short Shorts.
